Maren Community Economic Movement: Economic Empowerment Innovation in Tual City (with Tual City Government as Client)

The Tual City Government initially required a study on spatial planning. Then it evolved to combining spatial planning with economic empowerment activities for the Tual City community in the form of the Maren Community Economic Movement, which includes: a series of studies, data collection on the economic conditions of the community in the form of Household Balance Sheets, economic development consultation services for each village based on the household balance sheets of its residents, and entrepreneurship and cooperative training for youth, women and community leaders including Tual City government officials and village government officials.

The Maren Community Economic Movement was recognized as an innovation program at that time and as one example of community economic empowerment for the ASEAN region. Tual City is a city that has a household balance sheet for each family so that the impact of economic development on the community can be measured measurably with various household indexes, including welfare indexes, community happiness indexes, and others.
